Understanding and Working with Self Harm Workshop
The UK has the highest rates of Self harm in the UK and the problem is massively on the increase, particularly in young people.
I use my specialist experience gained for co-facilitating the development of a women's mental health service, whose approach to self harm was commended by the Government's Health Care Commission as 'pioneering... with excellent results.' In this service I worked with women who moved on from several years of severe self harm to gain fulfilling and satisfying lives. I feel passionate about breaking down the stigma associated with self harm and after conducting extensive research in the subject and having continued experience of working with clients who self harm, I very much enjoy offering training to others.
