Services offered

Individual Therapy

Sessions take place in my private and tranquil therapy room in Hollingbury, Brighton. Sessions last between 1 hour and 90 minutes, which allows us time to fully identify your difficulties and goals. We then begin employing techniques and strategies in the session as well as set tasks for using new tools outside of the session. My aim is that you will always go out feeling better than when you came in and more equipped to deal with life’s challenges.

Here are some examples of the types of difficulties I can help with:

Manage anger effectively

Excessive expressions of anger can destroy relationships and have a devastating effect on people’s lives. When you have mastered some new techniques and gained a greater understanding of the process of anger, you will be able to control the feeling of anger rising inside you and express yourself calmly and clearly, improving relationships as well as your self esteem.

Assert yourself with confidence

Feeling passive and not expressing your wants and wishes can be an easy, safe option in the moment but continually acting in this way can chip away at your confidence and leave you feeling bottom of the pile. Learn to express and value yourself with effective tried and tested assertiveness skills.

How to improve your self esteem

Low self esteem is one of the most commonly reported emotional difficulties, especially with young people. Feeling youre not worth very much can lead to self destructive “quick fix“ behaviours as desperate attempts to feel better, like using alcohol, drugs or other harmful behaviours. Learn new skills to start valuing yourself again and let go of unwanted behaviours.

Let go of anxiety and learn to relax

Excessive worrying and resulting anxiety not only blocks us achieving our dreams but also can lead to health problems such as neck and back pain and digestive difficulties. Learn important skills to effectively manage anxiety, freeing you up to achieve your goals and
feel more relaxed in any situation.

Couple / Family counselling

When emotional difficulties start to effect our close relationships, or there are conflicts present, it can be extremely helpful to discuss these with a third party and start to find a way through.

Skype and telephone sessions can also be arranged for convenience.
