I have worked in a wide range of mental health settings within the NHS for over 13 years as a therapist, trainer and supervisor. I feel passionate about helping to break down stigma around mental health issues. I firmly believe that we all move up and down the mental health continuum, depending on the amount of stress in our lives. I also believe that by learning and using tried and tested techniques, we all have the potential to be emotionally healthy and happy. At different times in our live’s, we can all benefit from some support to redirect ourselves to ‘be the best that we can be’.

My interest and experience in working with people who self harm and my passion for the effectiveness of the Human Givens approach has led me to become a lecturer on the subject of self harm for Mindfields College. I also work for the Human Givens Institute as Associate Programme lead for The Human Givens MA Course. I have contributed to various publications, including the recently published 'An Idea in practice' which was short listed for The MIND Book Of The Year Award 2008 and most recently, an article on treating psychosis effectively.

I love all the good things in life, especially riding my bike in the beautiful Sussex countryside and enjoying great food and wine!

Emotional Balance UK is also currently collaborating with Anita Wicks (RGN, Homeopath and Nutritional Therapist) and Amanda Evans (Holistic Therapist) in delivering Well being packages to Carers groups.
