The Approach
Deciding to see a therapist may seem daunting but it really doesn’t have to be! I have a relaxed and friendly approach, which will help you to feel quickly at ease. I use a combination of effective and practical techniques drawn for my experience as an Occupational Therapist and Human Givens Therapist. What I offer is more than just talking! In the first part of the session, we spend time talking to identify what your difficulties are and establish your goals and how you would like things to be different in the future. We then start working with effective, practical techniques and skills to help you move on and achieve the life you really want. This often involves using hypnotherapy, as this has been shown to achieve lasting changes, quickly and painlessly!
Hypnotherapy works with the imagination. Our imagination is a very powerful tool, when misused and focused on negative worries it can be the driver of anxiety but when it is re-focused on the positive changes you want to make in life, it can be your best friend.
The Human Givens Institute has conducted research into the effectiveness of this approach, and has shown that, in a sample of 1300 people who were treated by a Human Givens Therapist, 71% fully recovered from their difficulties within six sessions or less
